Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday called on global maritime players to partner with India’s rapidly expanding shipbuilding industry, stressing that the nation’s shipyards, capable of delivering everything from aircraft carriers to research vessels, are poised to become a global hub for shipbuilding, ship repair, and maritime innovation.
The four DPSUs – Munitions India Limited (MIL), Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), India Optel Limited (IOL), and Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) – were also felicitated on being granted Miniratna (Category-I) status.
“The effective use of Made-in-India equipment by the Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor bolstered India’s reputation both regionally and internationally,” Singh said.
“In all this, India while advocating for the reformation of outdated international structures, stands strong in upholding the international rules-based order,” he said.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday responded to his earlier statement that "Armed Forces need to be prepared for war". The Defence Minister said that he gave that statement so that India's peace cannot be disturbed under any circumstances.
Speaking in the border town of Rajouri, the defence minister asked the soldiers to “win the hearts of countrymen” and ensure that “lapses are not repeated which hurt the countrymen”.
On the sidelines of the ADMM-Plus, Shri Rajnath Singh will hold bilateral meetings with the Defence Ministers of the participating countries and discuss defence cooperation matters to further strengthen mutually-beneficial engagements.
