India logs 110 new Covid-19 cases

The total recovery stood at 4,44,87,992. The active cases in the country stands at 2,041.
With the detection of the new cases, total Covid caseload rose to 4,50,20,942. It also included the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
Of the new cases, 201 cases were reported from Karnataka, 98 from Maharashtra and 85 from Kerala.
Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gahlot met the family of Covid warrior Dr Perpetua Minz Tigga and handed over a cheque of Rs one crore as financial assistance.
With this, India’s active caseload now stands at 96,442 with active cases now constituting 0.22% of the country’s total positive cases.
The COVID-19 tally rose to 13,25,470, a bulletin issued by the department said, adding that Khurda district with 48 cases topped the daily Covid tally followed by Sundargarh at 36.
As per the data shared by the ministry, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.59% with 9680 patients having recovered in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 4,37,33,624.
Apart from declining cases, the country also witnessed a downfall in number of deaths with around 275 fatalities reported from 307 reported last week.
Patients with heart failure have more risk and need hospitalisation for mechanical ventilation, and death due to COVID-19. Vaccination reduces the risk of serious illness from COVID-19.
