Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
The country’s active COVID-19 cases stand at 27,20,716.
A downward trend in the number of new infections encouraged authorities to ease coronavirus-related restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the virus.

The daily positivity rate, crucial to assess the spread of coronavirus in the area, was on Friday reported below the 5 per cent mark (4.74%) and continued to slow down to 3.5 per cent, the lowest since March 31 when it was 2.71 per cent.
"Covid cases have come down to around 2,200 and the daily positivity rate to 3.5 per cent in Delhi, but we need to keep following strict guidelines of Covid management."
