Once a blue-eyed boy of the Bihar chief minister, he is so “harsh and blunt” about him at a public meeting in Nalanda that it’s difficult to imagine that not too long ago he was his mentor.
However, the man of the moment, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is indisposed. He had to cancel his trip to Chennai to invite his counterpart MK Stalin at the last minute.
The Bihar chief minister said, “Woh (ex-CM Jiten Manjhi) BJP waalon se milte rahte the. Theek hua hamse alag ho gaye.” (He (Manjhi) was constantly in touch with BJP leaders. It’s good that he left).
The leader of the saffron party also attacked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying his mental health resembles that of a character in film.
Kumar said, "What was the need for a new Parliament? I have repeatedly said that people in power will change the history of this country."
The ordinance came after the apex court gave the Delhi government control in services matters, including transfer and posting of officers.
The move aims at garnering support against the Centre's ordinance.
Earlier yesterday, Nitish Kumar met with his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren in Ranchi.
The Bihar CM will next meet his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren in Ranchi before flying to Mumbai to meet Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar. His tour is said to be politically significant.
Nitish Kumar said talks are underway with all Opposition parties for a united forum in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls.
