Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced that it has crossed the one million unique 5G user mark on its network, as the telecom operator rolls out 5G services in a phased manner. The company said it achieved this milestone in less than 30 days of its commercial launch even as the network is being built.
Bharti posted a consolidated revenue of Rs 34,728.7 crore for Q2FY23 as against Rs 28,435.2 crore in Q2FY22. The revenue increased by 22 per cent in comparison to the same period in FY22
Bharti Airtel will begin carrying out 5G services later this month, as it consented to requisite 5G equipment arrangements with South Korean tech giant Samsung.
Private 5G captive networks are about the deployment of high speed, enhanced data capacity, and ultra-low latency applications inside a closed manufacturing unit, hospital, airport and shipping port, among others.
The active subscribers are calculated based on the reported visitor location register (VLR), a key metric reflecting the number of active users on a mobile network.
Mobile based broadband subscriber base grew 1.15 per cent to 712.67 million in October as compared to 704.57 million in September.
