The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has opposed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea against his arrest and subsequent remand, stating that it is based on material in possession of the agency.
He alleged that not just Delhi, the people of Punjab are distressed by the development stagnation and rapid corruption under the AAP’s rule.
The Delhi minister said the Delhiites want to give a befitting reply to the BJP and the Central government for this through their votes.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, the senior AAP leader said, “The Tihar Jail of Delhi has become a torture chamber for Arvind Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal is currently in Tihar Jail under judicial custody. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
The hearing will resume in the lower court as a summons had been issued to Kejriwal and Singh for Friday.
Even as the Delhi Services Bill sailed through the Rajya Sabha, clearing all legislative hurdles in the Parliament, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday expressed reservations on its ramifications on governance in the national capital, saying that it could potentially undermine the elected government's authority and facilitate an indirect central rule.
Departing from the party line, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Monday blamed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the Delhi Services Bill, saying his running power tussle and bitter exchanges with the Centre resulted in the draft legislation on the control of services in the national capital.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday gave his approval to another 29 shops in Delhi to remain open round the clock. With this decision these shops and business establishments in the city will be allowed to remain open for 24 hours in a day.
The initiative aims to eliminate the reliance on water tankers and empower communities with reliable and convenient access to safe drinking water.
