The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has substantially raised the reservation for former Agniveers in the recruitment of constables in the Border Security Force, increasing it from 10 per cent to 50 per cent, as per a notification published in the Gazette.
He wished them a distinguished and honourable career in the service of the nation.
HNBGU authorities and Garhwal Rifles officials stated that besides providing better re-employment opportunities, the HNBGU diploma and certificate courses will motivate more youth to join the defence forces as Agniveers.
The maiden Stage-2 recruitment for the 01/2026 Agniveer batch is presently underway. Representatives of the Personnel Branch/Naval Headquarters at New Delhi and Western Naval Command at Mumbai were also present to mark the occasion.
The rally provided a valuable opportunity for the youth of Assam, particularly from the Lower Assam region, to embark on a career in the army as Agniveers.
The Chief Minister made these remarks to the media at his official residence this evening, before attending the NITI Aayog meeting in New Delhi.
State Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said if an Agniveer is hired on a monthly salary of Rs 30,000, his state government would give him Rs 60,000 as a subsidy to the industry setup.
"Recruitment in the army is not just a job but is also related to passion/respect on which the government must pay attention," she stressed.
