Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and opted to bowl first against India in the eighth match of the ICC Champions Trophy at The Oval on Thursday.

"Overcast morning, we'll take first use of the wicket," Mathews said after winning the toss.
Sri Lanka introduced three changes in their playing eleven from their last match against South Africa, which they lost by 96 runs.

Captain Mathews, Danuska Gunathilaka and Thisara Perera made their space in the eleven, replacing Upul Tharanga, Chamara Kapugedara and Seekkuge Prasanna.

"Good to be back. Batters let us down last game, we bowled and fielded pretty well. Pressure on, we'll enjoy ourselves," Mathews said on his return.

Meanwhile, defending champions' captain Virat Kohli decided to play without any change.

"We're not too worried. Conditions will stay the same throughout. Maybe for the next one, we'll look to do something different. Bringing some good momentum into the game. Teams are going to play one spinner, Ashwin understands the dynamics and he's a professional," Kohli said.
