Expressing dissatisfaction over the Election Commission of India (ECI) finding almost no fake voters in its recent probe on the matter in four assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh after a complaint by the Opposition Congress, party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has said the investigation should be conducted again.

Scindia alleged in Bhopal on Monday that the ECI probe teams conducted the investigation while sitting in Bhopal and did not conduct any ground checks in the four constituencies in question ~ Narela in Bhopal, Bhojpur in Raisen and Hoshangabad and Seoni Malwa in Hoshangabad district.

The Congress Election Campaign Committee chairman also alleged that the probe teams did not carry out any sampling or any physical verification during the investigation.  Scindia asserted that his and the Congress party’s only aim was to ensure free and fair elections.

Meanwhile, MP Congress Committee (MPCC) president Kamal Nath said on Monday that the first draft of the party’s manifesto for the year-end assembly polls should be ready this week.  Nath chaired a meeting with the working presidents of the state unit and other party leaders at the MPCC headquarters here.

Mocking some BJP leaders, Nath quipped they are not even capable of winning in municipal level elections.

He also said that he would be happy if Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan waived all the loans of farmers of the state.
