The court said that if necessary, a chamber hearing may take place.

Further, the apex court has decided to transfer four cases linked to the Unnao rape case from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi, according to a report in NDTV.

The Supreme Court today, is set to hear on a letter written by the Unnao rape survivor to the CJI dated July 12, two weeks before the accident.

On Wednesday, the apex court had sought a report from the Secretary-General for the delay in reaching the letter to the CJI.

The CJI also directed the Secretary-General to go through the letter written in Hindi for preparing a note of it for his perusal and submit a report within a week.

Family members of the Unnao rape victim, in a letter to Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi on July 12 had stated that the kin of accused threatened them to settle case otherwise they would be implicated in false cases.

The letter further urged the CJI to take action against those making threats.

The victim’s mother, sister and aunt alleged they were being constantly threatened by the men of the accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

“Accused Shashi Singh’s son Naveen Singh, Kuldeep’s brother Manoj Singh and Kunnu Mishra along with two others visited the victim’s house on July 7,” the letter read.

The victim’s family stated that the men told them that they had bribed the judge and secured the bail for Shashi Singh and Kuldeep Singh.

On Sunday, the woman from Unnao, who had accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of raping her in 2017, was severely injured while two of her aunts were killed after their car collided with a truck near Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh.

The family of the rape survivor has demanded immediate action against the BJP MLA claiming that the accident was a “conspiracy” to “eliminate the family”.

The CBI has registered a case against suspended BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and nine others accused in the case.

The CBI has also registered a case against 20 unknown persons under criminal conspiracy, murder, attempt to murder and criminal intimidation.

The Centre late on Tuesday handed over the case to the CBI hours after a recommendation from the Yogi Adityanath government.

The Unnao rape case hit the headlines in 2017 after the then 16-year-old girl alleged that she was raped by BJP MLA Sengar.

Sengar has been in jail since the past several months while the case is being probed by the CBI. Sengar’s brother has also been accused of beating up the victim’s father after tying him to a tree. Her father was then arrested and later died in police custody.

Meanwhile, Congress, BSP and SP have demanded justice for the rape survivor and strict action against the accused.
