Six persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an attack on a noted Malayalam author-poet Kureepuzha Sreekumar in Kerala’s Kollam district on Monday, as per media reports.

The incident happened when Sreekumar was returning after a delivering a speech at public forum against the proposed construction of a wall by Hindu groups at Bhajanamadam in Vadayambadi.

Hindu groups in Vadyambadi had proposed the construction of a wall near Bhajana Madom Devi temple, which led to tension in the area after Dalit groups protested against its construction.
