Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday greeted the nation on the occasion of Navratri.
“Navratri greetings to everyone… On the first day of Navratri, we pray to Maa Shailputri,” Modi tweeted on the first day of the nine-day long festival dedicated to goddess Durga. Each day, the nine forms of the goddess are worshipped.
Rahul Gandhi who is currently on a two-week tour of the US wished everyone the people on the pious occasion.

“Good wishes to all of you on Navratri” he tweeted in Hindi.
The festival will conclude on 30 September with Dussehra celebrations.
