The Army shot dead an infiltrator during exchange of fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri sector of Jammu on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Kairi area of the LoC.
Giving details of the incident, Army spokesman Lt Colonel Devender Anand said a suspicious infiltration bid was foiled in the Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir early Wednesday morning.

On being challenged, one of the intruders opened fire and the Army retaliated, gunning him down.
The body of the slain intruder has been handed over to the local police.
There was no confirmation on whether any weapon was recovered from the slain militant.
