Tainted Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS couple Mrs Tinu and Mr Arvind Joshi now face a clear and present danger of being dismissed from service on corruption charges, as the Centre is learnt to have accepted the state government&’s recommendation of sacking the couple.
According to official sources, the union Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has accepted the state government&’s proposal and forwarded it to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for final approval on dismissal of the suspended couple of the 1979 batch.
According to sources, the order for their dismissal is likely to be issued soon bz the state government.
The state government had also sought permission for the prosecution of the couple, and communication in this regard is also expected soon, they said.
On 27 May this year, the Madhya Pradesh State Government and Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta Organisation had filed a caveat in the Supreme Court in the case pertaining to seizure of disproportionate assets amassed by the couple.
Sources pointed out that the aim of the caveat was to thwart the presently suspended Indian Administrative Service couple from moving the Supreme Court in an attempt to prevent impounding of their property by the state government under the provisions of the ‘MP Special Courts Act, 2012’.
