Nayab Singh Saini-led Haryana govt wins floor test

Nayab Singh Saini-led newly formed Haryana government won the floor test on Wednesday.

Saini was asked to prove majority in the House after he took oath as new chief minister of Haryana, along with five ministers on Tuesday.

This came after the BJP broke its alliance with Dushyant Chautala’s JJP, and then CM Khattar and his Cabinet tendered their resignation to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.

Earlier in the day, speaking in the House during a debate on the confidence motion, Saini said he comes from a humble family background and has learnt everything from Khattar.

“I come from a humble family background, no one is in politics in my family. I am just a party worker of the BJP and today I have been given such a big opportunity. I must say that this can be possible only in a party like the BJP,” CM Saini said in the State Assembly.

“I have learnt everything from scratch from former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. I have learnt even the minutest things from him and how to maintain them,” he added.

Meanwhile, after BJP’s victory in the floor test, former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has resigned from the Karnal assembly seat. There are speculations that Khattar will contest Lok Sabha elections.
