Nadda accuses BJD of importing outsider for Odisha’s leadership

A few days after a tragic road accident claimed the lives of five youths near Bara Bhai Ka village on the Amritsar to Bathinda national highway in Faridkot district, the families of the deceased are asserting that it was not a mere accident but a deliberate act of murder.
According to the police, the victims’ car collided with an animal on December 2. The police, after registering a case under Section 174 of the CrPC, had closed the case.
However, the families of the victims are accusing the police of protecting two individuals who allegedly intentionally rammed their vehicle into the car of their loved ones.

While the five occupants lost their lives, two individuals in the other vehicle fled the scene, leaving behind their partially damaged vehicle, as per the complaint filed by the family members.
Faridkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (D) Waryam Singh stated that, based on preliminary findings, it appeared the car had collided with an animal, leading to the registration of a case under Section 174 of the CrPC. Nevertheless, he assured that if anyone had doubts, the police would thoroughly investigate the case.
Kirandeep Singh, whose nephew Manpreet Singh was among the deceased, claimed that the police had refused to accept their complaint. He further alleged that another vehicle was discovered at the scene, and the police remained silent about its occupants. Family members contend that locals who arrived at the accident site claimed that the occupants of the other car were carrying weapons. Earlier, police sources had mentioned that there were verbal arguments between the occupants of both cars before they headed from Bathinda to Faridkot.
