Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has termed the state budget presented by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in the assembly disappointing. He said that there is neither innovation nor enthusiasm in the budget.

Addressing media persons here on Friday he said that there was nothing visible in the budget to change the system and only the schemes of the previous BJP government were renamed and run under the name of the Gandhi family or in their own name.

He accused the officials of misleading both the government and the general public.

Thakur said that there was no clarity in the budget speech regarding the guarantees the Congress promised in the assembly elections.

He sought to know which women would be covered under the guarantee of allowance of Rs 1500 as mentioned in the budget. There is still no clarity regarding the provisions of OPS, while the employees are demanding pension as per the old norms.

He said that most of the schemes in the budget are of the previous BJP government and most of the schemes have been renamed.

The order for the purchase of 350 electric buses had been placed in the previous BJP government to establish Himachal as a green state, but these buses have not been brought so far, he charged. He said that the opposition will seek a reply from the government during the discussion on the budget speech on all the schemes run by the BJP government.

Thakur said that most of the schemes mentioned by the Chief Minister in his budget speech are Central Government sponsored schemes and Chief Minister is showing these schemes as that of the state government.
