Aadhaar card for footpath, night shelter dwellers
The issue of providing aadhaar card to the dwellers of night shelter in Kalighat was raised by one of the councillors during the question and answer session of the KMC House today.
Cancelling its earlier order on Aadhar card being mandatory for the mid-day meal benefits, the government on Tuesday said no one will be deprived of the benefits.
In a bid to bring transparency in the system, the government asked the departments to provide Aadhar enrollment facilities to their beneficiaries under Regulation 12 of Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) Regulations 2016.
