The latest buzz from the B-Town is that a host of celebrities, including the likes of Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, have been sued by an Indian-American promoter in the US.

The B-Town stars were expected to perform in the US back in 2013 on the occasion of Indian cinema’s 100 years. However, despite receiving advance payments for the show, some celebs didn’t perform at the event and performed for some other promoter instead.

According to a report in The Quint, the lawsuit is filed by Vibrant Media Group of Northern District Court of Illinois, Eastern Division, on June 10 and has been assigned to District Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman.

The Vibrant Media Group in its lawsuit alleged “breach of contract” to the number of celebs from Bollywood, who were expected to perform at the event.

As per the complaint, the celebs were scheduled to perform on September 1, 2013, on the special event that paid a tribute to the Indian cinema’s 100 years. However, the show had to be cancelled as Salman was not allowed to leave the country because of his hit-and-run case.

The promoters recently learned that the celebrities are not receiving their calls and messages or even offering to return the payment made to them in advance.

According to the lawsuit, Vibrant Media had paid Salman $200,000 in advance while actors Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi Sinha received $40,000 and $36,000 respectively.
