Hawa Hawa, the popular song of the 1980s, is all set to return to the silver screen in the Anees Bazmee’s upcoming directorial Mubarakan.

Recomposed by Bhushan Kumar, the song will feature Arjun Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz.

Nearly 15-million copies of the song have already been sold in India. The song originally belonged to Pakistani pop singer Hassan Jahangir.

While T-Series has the copyright of Hawa Hawa, the same company is giving music in the film.

Anees seems very excited with the idea of recreating the song as he said, “It’s a naughty, groovy song shot in a grand, colourful set-up.”

The director also said that they had originally planned to film it on the streets of Chandigarh but found it difficult to co-ordinate with over 200 extras and a large dance set-up.

“It would mean blocking an entire street. So, instead we built a set in Film City studio,” Anees said.

Mubarakan will be released on 28 July 2017.
