Politics of ‘jumla party’ exposed, charged AAP leader

Statesman News Service | Bhubaneswar |

The divisive politics of the ‘jumla’ party stands exposed on Monday and people have seen the true colours of the BJP, charged AAP leader Sanjay Singh while addressing a public meeting here.

Claiming that AAP could pull off a surprise in Odisha in 2019 general elections, Singh said nobody had regarded AAP as a serious contender in Delhi before it came to power, the same can happen in Odisha as the Naveen Patnaik led BJD government has failed to deliver over the last 18 years.

Contending that AAP was a party that stands out from the rest, he said, the others are all busy raising caste, religion and other such issues whereas AAP has always been talking about issues concerning the common man.

He listed out achievements of the Delhi government – the mohola clinics, education systems, cheap electricity, water etc. The BJP, on the other hand, has always hoodwinked people – where is the Rs 15 lakh in each ones bank account, the 2 crore jobs, he asked.

He alleged that demonetisation had robbed the common man while top corporates made money and fled. On Monday farm loan is being resisted, he said, while reading out a list of big corporates who have taken Rs 8 lakh crore loan from banks.

Who is defacing and pulling down statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Lenin, Ambedkar or Periyar, he asked while alleging it was the handiwork of the BJP-RSS supporters.
