A few days ago, a Love Jihad hit list had surfaced on social networking site Facebook featuring around 100 interfaith couples – Muslim boys and Hindu girls.

According to media reports, the Facebook post had urged Hindus to hunt the listed men down.

“This is a list of girls who have become victims of love jihad. We urge all Hindu lions to find and hunt down all the men mentioned here,” said the post on the  Facebook page now taken down.

The threat page was taken down by Facebook along with the duplicate versions posted by others.

Love jihad is a phrase widely used to imply that Muslim men woo Hindu women in a bid to get them converted to Islam.

A report in the Washington Post claims that one Satish Mylavarapu had posted the list on Facebook.

“It’s a matter of Muslims taking over our blood and taking over our wombs – the wombs that would give Hindu children,” the post read.

The report added that the list was assembled by highly motivated Hindu extremist “volunteers” across India. The volunteers, reportedly, went through profiles of young girls and analysed their pictures or posts that would link them with Muslim men.

Terming it as terrorism, Mylavarapu added that such “sick love” couldn’t be defended.
