Jagannath Temple’s managing body makes plans for its beautification

The Puri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee headed by Maharaja Dibyasingh Deb rolled out a comprehensive plan for development and beautification of the periphery area of the temple before Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik seeking approval of the government.

The Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingh Deb told reporters after meeting the CM that five proposals were submitted with regards to periphery development, the Grand Road, the Gundicha Temple and Aharanala.

Renovation of mutts on the periphery of the temple, mural painting of Gundicha Temple, a heritage garden, improvement of tourist amenities, restoration of water body at Atharanala were among the proposals given to the government, he said.

I have also proposed setting up a Srimandir Adarsh Gurukulam for children of servitors and a housing scheme for sevayats, he said.Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty, Law Minister Pratap Jena, chief secretary A P Padhi, chief administrator of the temple, P K Jena and others were present at the meeting.
