Within three days, three different gangrape cases, including with two minor girls,  have been registerd in Shamli district of the region, putting the police on their toes.

Confirming that the cases have been registered on the complaint of the family members,  SP of Shamli Dev Ranjan said action would be taken on completion of the investigation. He, however, said that people register fake cases to settle their scores.  The police have to authenticate the charges before taking action against the accused.

In the first incident, a 14- year-old girl was gangraped in village Gogwan of Kairana Kotwali. Four car-borne persons caught hold of her on Saturday when she was coming from the brick kiln where her parents work as labourers.

The accused gang-raped her and then left her on the road. The girl returned home on her own and narrated the incident to her parents, after which  a complaint was lodged in Kairana Kotwali.

SHO Bhagwat Singh said that the investigation has been started by the police and it has come to their notice that the girl’s father had a fight with the accused three  four days back. Action would be taken once the charges are probed.

The second incident of rape was also reported in the Kotwali area in which a woman was gang-raped by three men on Saturday when she had gone to collect fodder in Bharala village. The case was later registered by the woman in the Kotwali.   “In this case also the preliminary investigation suggests that a few days back the relative and family members of the woman were booked in a case under Section 307 by the accused,” said Bhagwat Singh.

In the other incident, an 11-year-old girl was caught by three real brothers when she was going to dump the cow dung in village Malakpur of Kandhla police station of the district.

“She was raped by one of the three brothers while others were holding her,” said senior sub-inspector Nand Kishore Sharma, adding that the medical examination of the girl has been conducted and her statement recorded before the police under Section 161. Now her statement would be recorded before the Magistrate under Section 164 and the police is waiting for the medical report after which action would be initiated accordingly.
