BARASAT, 16 JUNE: State food minister Jyotipriya Mallick who visited the house of the Class VI student, who was allegedly murdered by neighbours, promised the case will be put before a fast track court and the culprits would be punished soon.
Meanwhile, protesting the incident, members of Sutia Pratibadi Mancha today ransacked the Gaighata police and submitted a memorandum.
A student of Class VI was allegedly murdered at Rajapur village in Gaighata allegedly by neighbours. Her body was found in a nearby jute field. Police arrested the accused Sanjay Mandal. Today at around 12.30 p.m. the food minister came to the victim’s house. Assuring the family of speedy judgment, he said that the expenses and the lawyers’ fees would be met by him.
