She will then attend a public meeting. The venue of the public meeting is yet to be fixed up. This public meeting may be either in Kaliaganj or in Raiganj.
The Secretary of the state Trinamul Congress committee, Mr Ashim Ghosh, said: "We had a report that during the public meeting the Chief Minister will announce some developmental programmes for North Dinajpur. Recently, Mr Satya Ranjan Dasmunshi, the brother of the former union Information & Broadcasting minister Mr Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi joined the TMC. The Chief Minister told Mr Satya Ranjan Dasmunshi to be present on the stage with her that day. Security measures in place at the venue of the public meeting. A section of important Congress leaders of both Raiganj and Kaliaganj will join the TMC that day."
According to some politicians, the state Chief Minister previously visited North Dinajpur district. But her public meeting was held in Itahar out of the Parliamentary constituency of Deepa Dasmunshi as she had enmity with Deepa Dasmunshi. Now her husband&’s younger brother Mr Satya Ranjan Dasmunshi left his relation with Congress and he joined TMC on 8 November in Kolkata. This incident reportedly increased the strength of TMC in the parliamentary constituency of Deepa Dasmunshi. Reportedly Miss Mamata Banerjee will introduce Satya Ranjan Dasmunshi with other TMC leaders on that day.
The Superintendent of Police of North Dinajpur, Mr Akhilesh Chaturvedi, said: "We had reports that the state Chief Minister will hold a public meeting in North Dinajpur on 26 November.
