Kurseong, 1 October
Four senior members of the GJMM affiliate of the
casual workers, Janmukti Asthai Karmachari Sangathan (JAKS), including its
general secretary, Kurseong branch, Mr Dilip Singh, have resigned from the organisation today.
They alleged that JAKS senior leadership is not
sincere to regularise the casual workers despite commitment.
They said they had been supporting the GJMM since 2007 ~ the year the affiliate was formed.
The GJMM leaders had assured them that they would be regularised after formation of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration, they said.
They als said that the party has betrayed the
confidence that was reposed in them.
They also hinted that they might join the ruling Trinamul Congress and form a separate unit to
further their cause.
