Yogi assures Uttarakhand criminals fleeing UP won’t sneak into hill state
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that the criminals and mafia fleeing his state cannot enter the Uttarakhand.
The kin of martyr Sukhdev Thapar, who was hanged by British along with Bhagat Singh and Rajguru, have asked the Governor of J-K NN Vohra to allow them to visit Kashmir and hoist the tricolour at the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar on the Independence Day this year.
Ludhiana-based All India Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar Memorial Trust, which is run by the kin of the martyr, has sent a letter to Vohra requesting him to make arrangements for their journey towards Kashmir after they enter the state at Lakhanpur.
The members of the Trust had even last year tried to visit Kashmir to hoist the National Flag in the Lal Chowk but were stopped at Lakhanpur, the entry point of J-K from Punjab.

Ashok Thapar, president of the Trust, stated in the letter, “Last year, our group consisting of hundreds of people had undertaken Tiranga Yatra from Ludhiana onwards for Lal Chowk. People welcomed us and joined the noble cause as we as passed through cities.”
“It is our request that this time we should not be stopped for any reason. Last year we agreed with the authorities with assurance that next time we will be permitted to proceed to the Valley. Why should an Indian national require permission to go to Srinagar to hoist the National Flag?” questioned Thapar in his letter.
Tribhuvan Thapar who is the press secretary of Trust, said that if the authorities stop their march towards Srinagar, the members will sit on a fast unto death.
“We are not going to Srinagar to create any trouble. We only want to hoist our National Flag that is the right of every citizen of the country. I hope we will be allowed to visit Kashmir” said Thapar.
