As the controversy around ‘Padmavati’ intensifies, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said the film’s director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was equally responsible for the massive protests against the period film in different parts of the country.
Stressing that no one has the right to take the law into their hands, Yogi accused Bhansali of hurting people’s sentiments.
“No one has the right to take law into own hands whether it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali or anyone else… Those giving death threats are guilty, but Bhansali is also guilty of hurting people’s sentiments,” Yogi said.

Shri Rajput Karni Sena, an organisation of the Rajput community, has been protesting against “Padmavati” for the last few months and now they want a ban on the film.
The Rajasthan government is considering a ban on ‘Padmavati’ movie within the legal framework and seeking legal advice on the issue, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said on Monday after Madhya Pradesh banned the film from releasing.
