When the nation is talking about gender equality and clean India mission, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), Vasant Vihar, shames the capital as it has no toilets for women. The office is located at one of the posh areas here.
The matter came to light when DTC women staff working at the terminal complaint the matter to the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW).
Taking prompt action, DCW chief Swati Maliwal has sent a notice to DTC managing director C R Garg on Wednesday.
“The DCW received a complaint regarding the non-provision of toilet facilities for female staff and passengers in the PWD Colony Terminal, Vasant Vihar. It is stated that the absence of any toilets for ladies in the complex leads to harassment of the residents by the complex-incharge," the notice stated.
