The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday expressed displeasure over the West Bengal State Election Commission's (WBSEC) report on the action taken to control the widespread violence in the recently-held panchayat polls in the state.

The process for filing nomination and for withdrawal is already over as 12 February was the last date for withdrawal of nominations. The districts where polls will be held include Darjeeling, Cooch-Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, North and South Dinajpur, Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia, North and South 24-Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, East and West Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, East Burdwan and Birbhum.
