Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday emphasized that the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ is not just a ritual, but a concerted effort to improve the condition of farmers in the country.
Chouhan, as per an official release, emphasized that the campaign is not a one-time effort, it marks the beginning of a sustained movement to modernize Indian agriculture and enhance farmers' prosperity through direct field-level engagement.
The campaign is being organized by Indian Agricultural Research institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, agriculture universities, and various departments of the state government from May 29 to June 12.
According to an official document, the scheme promotes direct interaction between farmers and agricultural scientists.
The VKSA campaign’s ambitious goal is to reach over 1.5 crore farmers across India through technology dissemination, capacity building, and grassroots engagement, Union Minister Chouhan said while addressing the occasion.
In a bid to raise awareness among farmers about modern agricultural technologies and central government welfare schemes, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will launch a 15-day nationwide campaign beginning May 29, 2025.
