Expressing grief over the deaths in the tragedy, Modi offered his condolences to the bereaved families. He prayed for the early recovery of those injured.

In the first week, there shall be a cap of 2,000 pilgrims each day, of which 1,900 would be from Jammu and Kashmir and the remaining 100 from outside.
Chief executive officer of Shrine Board, Ramesh Kumar, also asked the domestic pilgrims having symptoms like cough, high fever and breathing problems to reschedule or postpone their visit to the holy shrine.
The pilgrims were from a group of 56 that had started from their village Mohanpura on October 3.
This was the highest number of pilgrims so far visiting the holy cave shrine in a single day during this calendar year, said Simrandeep Singh, chief executive officer of the Shrine Board.
