The MHA issued 23 separate notifications under Section 35 of the UAPA, which empowers the Central Government to classify a person as an individual terrorist if credible evidence establishes their involvement in terrorist-related activities.
Reports said that the SOG jawan lost his life in an ambush by the terrorists who were trapped in the thick forest. One terrorist is also believed to be injured in the exchange of fire.

Two Pakistani terrorists, who tried to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC), were killed on Tuesday in a gunfight with the Indian Army in the Machhal Sector of the Kupwara district in North Kashmir.
"128 local terrorists had joined this year, out of which 73 were killed in encounters and 16 were arrested. Only 39 are active currently. The numbers are significantly down as compared to the last 2 years," said Kumar.
The two encounters broke out in the Hardumir area of Tral and Chowgam in Shopian. Two terrorists were killed in each of these encounters. The encounter in Tral lasted a few minutes.
Police confirmed these killings and said search operations have been launched at both places by security forces.
The firefight between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists.
The terrorists were planning to carry out terror activities in the province, said police, adding that the timely action by police force saved the province.
