The Met department has predicted light to moderate rainfall over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and isolated rainfall over Rajasthan on December 26 and 27.
An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said the minimum temperature was minus 6.0 in Srinagar on Sunday while it was minus 8.3 in Pahalgam and minus 8.5 in Gulmarg.
"The air quality is likely to improve significantly and remain in the poor category."
A similar drop will also be recorded in the central and eastern part of the country.
