Addressing the BJP’s Aatma Gourav Sabha for backward classes at LB stadium in Hyderabad along with Jana Sena president and popular Telugu actor Pawan Kalyan, the PM said the oncoming storm of change can be felt from that very rally ground.
The Congress has fielded former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin from the Jubilee Hills constituency, while the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has retained its sitting MLA M Gopinath.
After joining the Congress, Venkatawamy launched a pointed attack on the ruling BRS, accusing the party of working for their own family and called for unity to unseat KCR.
According to a communique issued by Congress, Kharge has appointed Ashok Shankarrao Chavan and N S Boseraju as special observers for the southern state.
The BRS leader says the grand old party aims to invest Rs 1,500 crore collected from builders, and gold merchants in commissions in Bengaluru in the Telangana assembly elections.
Sharmila, who will contest from Palair constituency, indicated that she may also fight from a second seat. She said her mother Y S Vijayamma and husband Anil will also contest the November 30 polls.
According to police, Kandi Srinivas Reddy, who aspires to fight the state polls from Adilabad on the Congress ticket was booked under IPC and the Representation of People’s Act after a complaint was lodged with the EC.
Meanwhile, the BRS has put up posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the city, criticising him for insulting Telangana formation ahead of his visit to the state.
According to political grapevine the two sides also discussed Telangana polls in December this year. Although TDP has lost the political space it occupied in Telangana since the bifurcation, the BJP’s local unit may have considered TDP’s support might be beneficial in 25-30 seats.
