A day after the state government asked her to postpone her visit to Manipur, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal on Sunday landed in Imphal to interact with survivors of sexual assault while appealing the government to allow her to do that.
According to Maliwal, wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik had told her that they were being tortured and harassed by police officers.
In the notices issued to DCPs of all districts, Maliwal has sought information regarding the number of rooms in each police station and police chowki along with the number of CCTV installed.
