Sood on Wednesday visited and reviewed the progress of India’s first commercially approved and South Asia’s largest utility-scale standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located at Kilokri, South Delhi.
On Tuesday night, electricity demand reached the highest in the history of the state at 29,820 MW, while power consumption also reached about 643 million units.
Apart from this, the water supply will also be improved by replacement of water lines in Nangli Puna, Jharoda Harijan Basti, and Kamal Vihar of Burari.
The ADB project will connect 75,800 households to the service to ensure uninterrupted water supply to about 3,70,000 residents across the 10 districts.
Citing the case of children falling sick in Jhankarpali village in Khaprakhol Block of Bolangir district after consuming fortified rice, the activists including prominent public health doctors, nutritionist and social scientists have sought for the suspension of fortified rice supply in the State.
According to the vegetable vendors too, there will be no reduction in price in the near future amid the shortfall in supply.

"The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over G20's decision to come up with the 15 per cent minimum Corporate Tax. It was at the 2014 G20 Summit that the Prime Minister had first proposed this idea of a minimum corporate tax in order to prevent to some extent the evasion of taxes," Foreign secretary Harsh Shringla said.
