The minister also accused the Congress, National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of staging fake encounters and handing over guns in the hands of the Kashmiri youth and these parties are responsible for encouraging terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Political parties are worried that the migration is bound to upset their poll calculations.
The NC had unilaterally announced that it would field its candidates on all the three seats and fielded Mian Altaf from Anantnag. The NC had left two seats in Jammu for the Congress as part of the INDIA bloc's seat-sharing agreement.
Nasir Aslam Wani, who led the NC delegation, said they impressed upon the Election Commission the need for holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir together with the Lok Sabha polls.
Mehbooba, in her rallies, was stressing that her father Mufti Sayeed had formed the coalition government with the BJP with the hope that Modi, with the massive mandate he got in the 2014 elections, would carry forward the peace initiatives of Vajpayee with Pakistan.
In her election rallies in South Kashmir, Mehbooba has warned that threats to abrogate the Articles 370 and 35A and also Modi government’s “muscular approach” towards Kashmir will turn the situation more gruesome and worrying.
Mehbooba had gone to a shrine at Khirram in Anantnag district to pay her obeisance and was returning to Bijbehara when the incident took place.
As a strategy to prevent the division of their votes, the NC and PDP have not fielded their candidates against the Congress on both Lok Sabha seats of the Jammu division.
Mehooba, while addressing a worker’s convention in Anantnag of South Kashmir, asserted that the vision and roadmap of dialogue and reconciliation created by Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is the only pragmatic way to deal with the vexed issue of Kashmir and get the people of the state out of the morass.
