Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Rai and senior Maharashtra Congress leader and former state president Nana Patole on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Congress leader raised questions about the conduct of local civic body elections by the Maharashtra Election Commissioner.
"The Delhi blast is a cowardly attack on our country. Modi has misled the country. The Central government has failed in safeguarding the country's security and it must take responsibility for this failure," Patole said.
The Congress MLA said some ministers of the state have also been caught in honeytraps laid to get access to confidential information from government files.
The fourth day of the monsoon session of the Maharashtra assembly commenced here on Thursday with the Opposition targeting the Fadnavis-led Mahayuti government for alleged irregularities in municipal waste management.
This led the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) to boycott proceedings of the legislative assembly for a day in protest against Nana Patole's suspension from the monsoon session for a day.
Congress leader Nana Patole said here on Thursday that during the last 11 years, Narendra Modi's foreign policy has been like a computer game, in which noise and publicity is very visible, but it has completely failed to achieve real goals.
Nana Patole also criticised the state government for Monday's fire incident in the Mumbai Vidhan Bhavan.
Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole met Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, in Delhi on Monday and sources here have indicated that the party is likely to replace him as Maharashtra Congress chief with a younger face, taking election-related caste arithmetic into consideration.
Patole also highlighted how the police had earlier detained two lookalikes but released them later.
