Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Rai and senior Maharashtra Congress leader and former state president Nana Patole on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Patole said, “Mata Ahilyabai Holkar was from Maharashtra. She did significant work for the protection of Sanatan Dharma throughout the country. But we were prevented from going to the place where the idols were broken. A complete report on this will be submitted to Rahul Gandhi.”

“The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now hurting the faith of Hindus. The police stopped us from going to the place where the idols were broken. What is the government trying to hide? The government is now trying to conceal the truth by lying about this matter,” he alleged.
He further said, “The central and state governments are trying to transform the holy city of Kashi into a mall system. Mata Ahilyabai has been insulted. A conspiracy is being hatched to destroy Hindu culture and the systems of Sanatan Dharma. The government is suppressing the truth in the name of taking action.”
“The family members of Mata Ahilyabai Holkar have told the truth to the country. The state Chief Minister claimed that AI-generated videos and photos have gone viral, so why are we not being allowed to go to that place? The government is scared. The government is bringing people from Gujarat to carry out vandalism, mall construction, and commercialization through photo sessions,” he said.
“The government that came to power in the name of Hindus is now fooling the Hindus themselves. What does the government want to achieve by destroying the history of Sanatan Dharma?” he questioned.
Ajay Rai said that the government should present the broken idol to the public. “What happened with Shankaracharya ji in Prayagraj is an insult to Shankaracharya,” Rai said.
They also offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
