The chief minister handed over a memorandum containing the demands of a new agricultural university that was promised to the state, as well as substantial additional funds and subsidies from the Centre.
Praising Naidu, the Union minister said, “This man is always in a hurry… while such big projects usually take time, Chandrababu Naidu pushed ahead and conceptualized Drone City.”
Several districts have already witnessed incessant rainfall even before the cyclone’s landfall. Traffic will be suspended on roads and national highways in the Krishna and Godavari districts from 9 pm ahead of the expected landfall near Kakinada.
In a massive outreach programme, Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and minister Nara Lokesh reached the venue in autorickshaws, travelling almost 14 km instead of their convoys. They also donned the uniform of drivers for the event.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday took oath as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time in a star-studded programme attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other key BJP leaders and celebrity film stars.
Following the swearing-in, leaders of the NDA alliance from the TDP, JSP and the BJP will meet the Andhra Pradesh governor to stake claim to form a government under the chief minister-designate.
Naidu is scheduled to be sworn-in as chief minister on 12 June in the presence of a host of VIPs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who are expected to attend the ceremony.
The TDP chief on Thursday held a meeting with party MPs at his residence in Undavalli while the rest joined him through Zoom. He informed the MPs that he will take oath on 12 June.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu assured on Wednesday that he was with the NDA and will attend the alliance meeting today.
