Announcing the decision in Srinagar, the J&K UT Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra said, “We have pushed all our differences with the NC to the backburner to prove our commitment to our ethos.”
BJP leaders claim that due to alleged cuts in the Bhakra Canal water supply to neighbouring states by the Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government, Delhi is heading towards a water crisis, sparking strong public outrage.
Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Wednesday constituted an ad-hoc committee to review the salaries, allowances, and other facilities of legislators and to provide appropriate recommendations.
The Speaker said that there had been a constant demand from several Legislators regarding constitution of a House Committee since start of the Budget session.
Delhi assembly speaker Vijender Gupta has nominated 14 Members of the Legislative Assembly ( MLASs), to assist the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for the financial year 2025-26, a move which may increase the saffron party's hope of forming a triple engine government in future.
He further added, “50 MLAs are here on their own. No MLA is suppressed here, and everyone is happy. The MLAs are with us at the Guwahati hotel."
The top court also extended, till July 12, the time granted by Deputy Speaker to the 16 dissident MLAs to submit their written responses to the disqualification notice, and asked the Maharashtra government to ensure protection of all rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and their family members.
Two petitions have been filed, one by Shinde and the other by rebel MLAs, challenging the disqualification notice issued by the Deputy Speaker and the appointment of Ajay Chaudhary as leader of the legislative party.
The political crisis in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra erupted after party legislators joined a rebellion led by Eknath Shinde who is staying at a hotel in Guwahati.
The petitioners have also urged the court that the state government may be restrained from paying these taxes.
