Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday launched a fresh political outreach initiative, urging leaders across party lines to unite and seek a sustained dialogue with the Centre on the issue of restoration of statehood and other contentious matters concerning Jammu and Kashmir.
Questioning whether it was the change people of West Bengal voted for, she wrote: “The sad deteriorating law & order ever since BJP won the West Bengal elections is appalling to say the least.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said that the inconclusive Islamabad talks once again show that the US has underestimated Iran.
After years away from the political spotlight of the House, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti visited the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly here on Monday and called for joint efforts by the government and opposition to restore the strength and dignity of the legislature.
The visits reflect the strong emotional and political resonance that developments in Iran have generated across parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

On Monday, Mehbooba wrote letters to PCI and Editors Guild of India on the “intimidation, snooping and harassment” of journalists in J&K alleging that reporting truth is being criminalized in J&K.
She further added: "Hazrat Khadija Tul Kubra, Prophet SWA's first wife was an independent & successful businesswoman. Hazrat Ayesha Siddique led the Battle of Camel & headed a force of 13000 soldiers. Islamic history is full of such examples of emancipated & empowered women.
Mehbooba said this on her Twitter handle and also posted pictures of the locked gate of her Srinagar residence and also a police vehicle parked to block entry of her house.
"GOI expresses concern for the rights of Afghan people but willfully denies the same to Kashmiris. Ive been placed under house arrest today because according to admin the situation is far from normal in Kashmir. This exposes their fake claims of normalcy," Mehbooba tweeted.
