Jammu and Kashmir's 100-day anti-drug campaign has dealt a major blow to narcotics networks, with authorities arresting 2,581 drug traffickers, seizing over 1.43 tonnes of narcotic substances—including 23.29 kg of heroin—and confiscating assets worth Rs 188.89 crore to choke narco-terror financing, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Tuesday.
In a major boost to the preservation of Jammu and Kashmir's rich cultural heritage, the historic Bhairav Yatra of Rajouri has been officially included in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of India.
He directed that the scheme be piloted in one district each of the Jammu and Kashmir divisions before being rolled out across the Union Territory.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday cracked down on fake registrations for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, directing the police to take strict legal action against travel agents involved in fraudulent bookings, even as he reviewed pilgrim facilities and security arrangements at Nunwan and Chandanwari.
The simmering power tussle in J&K has come into the open with Lt Governor Manoj Sinha claiming that he only controls the police while the rest of the departments fall within the domain of the elected Government.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday reviewed the working of the security grid and various significant steps being taken by the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and J&K Police to ensure foolproof security for the Amarnath Yatra.
“Cutting-edge technology will enable real-time monitoring and crowd management for safety, security of devotees and it will ensure hassle-free pilgrimage,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Amarnath Yatra will commence on 3 July, simultaneously from both the routes – the Pahalgam track in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district.
He said, ex-gratia and other relief has been provided and Government of India is committed for further necessary assistance.
