Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday directed the officers for tricolor illumination of prominent buildings, tourist spots and border villages across Jammu and Kashmir on the Independence Day. He also asked for organizing activities in the honour of prominent personalities who contributed in nation building.
“It is a historic day for Jammu and Kashmir and a new beginning for thousands of landless families,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said.
The Lt Governor directed the concerned departments to make all necessary services accessible to the pilgrims at railway stations, airports, on travel routes and Yatra base camps.
The Lt Governor said along with the unprecedented development, the spiritual aspect of Jammu Kashmir is also scaling new heights.
Not only job aspirants but also political parties have criticised the LG’s administration for making the sensitive issue a prestige matter.
Speaking in his monthly radio programme ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz’, Sinha paid tributes to the civilians martyred in the Dangri (Rajouri) terror attack. Seven persons, including two children were killed in the terror attacks on 1 and 2 January.
