"This tank will be refilled in due time, but once the PSA plant comes into existence, the MMCH will produce its own oxygen. Added to this, four new Covid treatment facilities will also be set up in the district, given the surge in infections," a source said.
Ratua-II block, which so far had been reporting sporadic cases, came up with 44 new ones last night in areas like Pirgunj and Sultangunj. Harishchandrapur continued its infection trend with 16 fresh cases, while Manikchak had 12.
The officer on special duty for Covid-19 in north Bengal, Dr Susanta Kumar Roy, said: "The department has prepared the food chart for adult men and women in forms of leaflets. The leaflets will be distributed among the people."
The doctors have been staging a demonstration in the campus with placards in their hands, while they are yet to resume their duties.
Sources say that the revamp follows the recent protest of junior doctors across the state, following the physical assault on a junior doctor in the NRS Medical College in Kolkata by relatives of a patient.
