‘3rd term chances for BJP getting bleaker’
Trinamul Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that the BJP’s chances of returning to power are becoming bleak while predicting a rich harvest for her party in Bengal.
As part of its plans to revamp its security system, the Malda Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) is all set to have a new police outpost installed in the campus, while a modern alarm system would be set up there.
MMCH authorities held a two-hour closed-door meeting with the District Magistrate (DM) and Police Superintendent in this regard today, it is learnt.
It is learnt that more CCTV cameras and female security guards will also to be included in the MMCH security system.

Sources say that the revamp follows the recent protest of junior doctors across the state, following the physical assault on a junior doctor in the NRS Medical College in Kolkata by relatives of a patient.
Notably, chief minister Mamata Banerjee has directed that the security in all hospitals be beefed up after the agitation of the doctors. The district administration held a meeting with the MMCH authorities in this regard and inspected the institution recently.
“The police outpost to be opened in the MMCH campus will have a Sub-inspector (SI) rank officer and eight other officers. CCTV cameras will be reviewed and seen if they are adequate there, so that they keep good surveillance on the outsiders and the goings-on there,” Alok Rajoria, the Malda Superintendent of Police (SP) said.
DM Kaushik Bhattacharya said that an alarm system will start working within seven days, alongside other security measures. “There will be a special vigil on the patients’ relatives and additional rules may be imposed if necessary,” he said.
