The district police of Leh took cognizance of the assault on two policemen who were beaten up by a group of around 10 boys who were called for help on the intervening night of July 23 and July 24 at around 12-1 am, the Leh Superintendent of Police PD Nitya said.
No loss of life has so far been reported. Rescue teams of the Army, BRO, ITBP, NDRF, UTDRF and Police swung into action to deal with the situation.
Traffic restrictions around the teaching ground were ordered by the Ladakh administration.
Local police, along with the disaster management personnel, were deployed to evacuate the stranded travelers and divert traffic to alternate route.
The Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh have suffered loss of property due to incessant rains and unseasonal snowfall.
