Inspired by India’s first Digital Nomad Village, recently launched in Sikkim’s Yakten, stakeholders in north Bengal’s tourism industry have begun exploring similar possibilities across the region.

The 2nd Darjeeling Ecotourism and Cultural Festival will be held at Ahal Ground, Sittong III, Kurseong, under the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) from 7-9 February.

Addressing his party activists from Kurseong at his home village of Patleybas in Darjeeling some days ago, Mr Gurung had compared Kurseong town to a 'toilet.' Also, a short video clip of his statements went viral on social media.
The development comes after the decision of another leader of the Morcha faction, Roshan Giri, to address a public meeting in Kurseong tomorrow.
Addressing a press conference here today, the Gurung faction's youth leader, Satyawan Chettri, said Mr Giri and youth leader Dipen Malay will be arriving in Siliguri from Kolkata tomorrow.
"The recent sighting was some days ago. While they do not come near human settlements like the other normal leopards do, we see them either sleeping or resting on rocks or walking among the tea bushes or the hill slopes far away," Mr Rai said.
"We have decided to open shops in a phased manner, as opening all at once will create problems. There seems to be no limit of the lockdown and looks like we have to live with coronavirus, for which we have to change our marketing strategy by keeping safety in mind,” DCC vice president Vimal Mintri said.
